The housing market has been hitting a growth spurt with sales reaching 9,334, a 46.1% increase from 2020's 6,389. Average sales price increased 19% and median sales price grew 14.9% from last year, as well. Houses aren't staying on the market long (a median on 6 days, compared to last years 13 days), but the inventory is still low at 0.9, compared to 2.4 in May 2020.
In the graphic below are all the statistics compiled by the Maryland Board of REALTORS®. Some places to note are:
- Dorchester County's 103.3% increase (61 units sold in 2021 compared to 30 in 2020)
- Caroline County's 92.0% increase (48 units sold in 2021 compared to 25 in 2020)
- Talbot County's 80.0% increase (81 units sold in 2021 compared to 45 in 2020)
- Kent County's 69.2% increase (44 units sold in 2021 compared to 26 in 2020)
- Queen Anne's County's 66.7% increase (105 units sold in 2021 compared to 63 in 2020)
- Montgomery County's 60.5% increase (1475 units sold in 2021 compared to 745 in 2020)
- Fredrick County's 49.1% increase (562 units sold in 2021 compared to 377 in 2020)
- Anne Arundel County's 47.7% increase (1100 units sold in 2021 compared to 669 in 2020)
- Charles County's 32.2% increase (312 units sold in 2021 compared to 236 in 2020)
- St. Mary's County's 23.6% increase (196 units sold in 2021 compared to 157 in 2020)
